Monster Island, The Asylum's 2019 mockbuster that was released around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, is about an island called Monster Island where a monster may be discovered, who is sort of the island, the Monster Island, if you will.


As an asylum film, it is able to afford a large budget and uses it well. It focuses on a few people and keeps its big stars in one place where they can all be recorded during lunch breaks. But, remember that this is a kaiju movie and they (posted here) do it well, so maybe The Asylum won’t be so bad with it?
